And when we say lifelong friends, we mean lifelong friends.

We met in first grade — in Mrs. Wainscoat’s class at Elmcrest Elementary School in Reno, Nevada, to be exact. 

 

We went to elementary, middle, high school together.

We were college roommates. 

Heidi was the Maid of Honor in Mikalee’s wedding — and vice versa. (Good thing our friendship outlasted both of our first marriages!)

We have been together through celebrations, divorce, professional prosperity, sickness, relocation, blindsiding betrayal, birth and death.

We are forever friends who recognize the value of time, especially as it relates to some of life’s more seemingly insurmountable challenges. Because we’ve both been through it — Heidi losing both of her own parents within four years, and Mikalee enduring completely blindsiding ends of not just one, but two marriages.
